Vyvian's Birth Story
February 25 started out like every other Saturday. I had a list of things to do to get ready for the baby's arrival. My dad cam over to work on the renovation of the bathroom with Kristofer. My mom was coming over also. I had been to the dr a couple of times the past week because I was very uncomfortable. The baby's head was SO low. I had to go to the mall to find sock for Alyvia (Easter was coming faster than I knew it). I was planning on going to the mall while the men worked, but they finished what they were doing pretty fast. So Kristofer, Alyvia and I went to the mall. We walked around the WHOLE (small) mall. Nothing! I could not find the super ruffly socks I want for Alyvia in her size. We then went out to dinner. Came home and got ready for bed. It was about 9 pm. I laid down and started feeling a little sharp pain. Remember I felt nothing with Alyvia so I wasn't sure if this was a contraction. Kristofer had just fallen asleep, he was snoring, and Alyvia was tossing and turning. So I kept my eye on the clock, they were 6 mins a part. The pain got a little more intense. So I went to sit in the rocking chair to see if I sat up they would continue. The pain was now 4 mins a part. I decided to call my mom. I told her what was happening and told her I might be bring Alyvia to dad. Then I decided to wake Kristofer it was about 9:45 and the pain was 3 mins a part. Alyvia had just fallen asleep. I went and finished packing Alyvia's bag and my hospital bag the pain was now taking my breathe away and I had to stop and focus when it came. By the time I go to the car with Alyvia in my arms the contractions were 2 mins a part. We got to my mom's and dropped off Alyvia. Alyvia whined a little but was fine. Kristofer and I headed to the hospital. We got to the Labor and Delivery about 10:30pm and I filled the paper work while the pain still took my breathe away each time! Went into the first room to be checked and I was dilated to a 6-7, 85% effaced, baby's head was -2 and the contractions were 2 mins a part. And the contractions were sharp! The nurse asked if I wanted to be wheeled or if I want to walk to the next room. I opted for walking, to walk off the pain. She weighed me and I was as I was the whole pregnancy!! SWEET! ( No I will not post the weight) ;) Oh by this time the contractions were intense, taking deep breathes and squeezing whoever's hand I could! ;) By this time my mom, brittany, and danielle were all there. I received my epidural as soon as the blood work was done. These contractions caused a few tears drops to fall. I was praying the eppy guy would freakin' hurry it up!! Kristofer got up soon after the epidural was in but the guy was taping it up and Kristofer almost passes out. They call other nurses to care to him, get him what they called "daddy" juice. He looked green. ;) Eppy was in and then the waiting game began. I did have one spot that I could still feel the contraction so I called the nurse, she said it could just be what they call a window. (WHATEVER! I want all the pain to stop!!) So she upped the dose and that didn't work, so I asked if I rotated a little if that would work, she was hesitant but agreed. FEEEWWW... the pain was eliminated. Once again the nurses tried to break my water, no use, my placenta is a strong one ;) I didn't feel any pressure, but she checked me any way and I was a 10 and 100% sweet! I pushed three time and she got Dr. Beguin. (Dr. B did break my water before Vyvian came out completely, almost had another one born in the sack.) Then I pushed a few more times and our beautiful angel was here. 2:09 am to be exact. The most disgusting part is that Dr. B laid her right on me!! Skin to skin... nasty and he would take her off until Kristofer cut the umbilical cord. YUCK. Not a fan.
She was so cute AFTER they bathed her. My 7 lbs 1 oz baby girl!
